2022-01-18 I've been attempting to record myself reading Hailey's Comet (brutally dissected edition). I've had so many people (strangely) ask me for audio recordings of my narratives. I guess people are actually interested in that for some reason. That seems so silly to me. I mean-- if you can't find time to read a short novel, simply copy the text to a voice simulator (like Android's "Hey-Google voice"). And, have your little i-thingy read it for you. I don't see the problem, here. But I figured-- if people are picky enough to ask for such a thing, why not attempt recording my stories the way *I* want? I'm not (at all) pleased with what I have come up with so far. lol. My girlfriend was listening to some of my reading attempts. And, she seemed to think they're pretty good. In my opinion though, it's-- not great. I don't like the amount of time I have to spend recording. And, I'm not happy with the result. My recordings lack soul-- meaning I have not captured the *spirit* of Insanely Witty Stupidity in a recording, yet. I'm still thinking about this. I wanna practice acting ('cause, I wanna deliver narrative dialog in a way that is true to the story). And, I've always enjoyed simulating voices. But, I have to work on those (it takes time to develop a character voice that sounds right, you know-- on cue). I was thinking I might sell copies of audio recordings (as a way to raise funding for Insanely Witty Stupidity). I was also considering selling prints of my literature. But, we'll see about all that. I feel like Ghosts of Glory High's ninth chapter is finished. I wrote what the next to last section called for (in my original plot summary) before Christmas. However, it seemed kinda dry to me. Also, it was a little short (I mean-- compared to the 469 paragraph monstrosity that is chapter 7). So, I decided to add a little something to the beginning of chapter nine. I was pretty disappointed I never managed to fit Wednesday's mom into my second Hailey's Follies book. So, I used a sorta brief chapter as an opportunity to describe Wednesday's bedroom a bit, have the girls interacting, and then have Mrs. Williams drop by to hug Wednesday and Hailey good night. I threw something extra in there while I was at it. Uh, well-- I've said too much. You'll have to wait until the book is ready to see what I mean. ;) I've been pecking at a plot summary for the third Hailey's Follies book. I'm not too pleased with it, though. It doesn't really contain some of the things I want to write about. And then, it's thick with additional content I *don't* wanna write about. lol. You can't win for losing, sometimes. It takes careful crafting to create thoughtful literature. And I figure-- if I'm bored writing it, people will probably be bored reading it. So, I like to get that shit right before I commit to dictating a long winded narrative. |
Random Fact: Slackware (a GNU/Linux system maintained under an emphasis of function over form) is the official operating system used to host Insanely Witty Stupidity. Many packages are compiled using various Slackware systems for the purpose of developing the site. And, Insanely Witty Stupidity happily shares those precompiled packages with its users (because-- people may find them useful). |
