Advocating Humanity

2021-05-28

Well, I found out today that Richard Stallman was re-hired by the Free Software Foundation. This was announced March 21, 2021. So (clearly), I am late to the party. But-- better late than never. ;) I am very pleased to hear this. RMS was attacked needlessly by pseudo-feminists and fascist democratic socialists because he publicly stated his opinion about Jeffrey Epstein. Rather than supporting the man's liberty (the goal of the FSF), the Free Software Foundation asked him to resign. I've been pretty pissed off about this-- mainly because I support many of Mr. Stallman's views about sexuality and the difference between a non-pubescent child and an adult. But, it also irritates me because I have long been an advocate for the GNU project and the FSF. And-- I do *not* condone the treatment of RMS by his own organization.

Personally, I think Stallman is a misguided dick-head in many ways. For example, he promotes harmful, non-scientific propaganda (anthropogenic global warming, astronomy, communism) in life and on his website. He's also been an advocate for oppressing people's liberty over a common cold variant (SARS-CoV-2). And, I think he misunderstands the purpose of his own movements (the GNU project and the Free Software Foundation). E.g., he claims to be an anti-capitalist and a socialist (in regards to copyright). But then, the GNU General Public License is supposed to make it difficult for people to copyright an idea. And, well-- copyright is a harmful tool used by socialist dictators to oppress human liberty. It is not a utensil capitalists employ in order to earn a living. It is an authoritative weapon abused by communist elitists in order to exercise control over large populations. Mr. Stallman should take a moment to ponder this basic fact.

However, the man has a right to disseminate his opinions (just as much as *I* do). The day I form an opinion-- I will be sure to share it, too. I choose to recite facts. So (currently), this is not possible for me. The question is: "Should Richard Stallman be allowed to serve as a member of the Free Software Foundation (the organization he started) given his opinions?" I'll tell you-- if *I* was Mr. Stallman, I know what I would tell people. I'd tell them to suck my fat dick. But, I have a fat dick. So... If whining cry-babies wanna bitch about something they have not taken the time to understand, this is *always* the proper response. The fact that Stallman resigned demonstrates (to me) that many in the FSF believed RMS should go. And so, the FSF is (clearly) just as corrupt as people spreading false information about Richard Stallman. And, it is an organization that does not practice what it preaches.

The chief principle of the Free Software Foundation is that a person's liberty should be respected. And yet, many of the FSF's members concerned themselves with politics over its founding member's humanity. The FSF's goal (in this instance) was to appease pseudo-feminist snowflakes. And, that is a violation of the organization's implied ethics. It caused myself (and other hackers) to reconsider the Free Software Foundation's legitimacy. And, I hope it cost them their reputation. Because, it should have. I'm still looking around at Emacs and BASH and GNU stickers all over my computer hardware-- and thinking, "Hmm-- do I really support an organization that tramples its members' liberty in the name of politics?"

So when I read on Richard Stallman's website that the Free Software Foundation reinstated its founder, I was very excited! :D This restored my faith in the organization to an extent. At least its remaining members are willing to admit they violated their own principles. That or-- Stallman pulled strings at the organization in order to earn special treatment. This situation and its resolution should lead RMS and the FSF to re-think some of their own principles (regarding pseudo-feminism and democratic socialism). But, that's a separate discussion. You can support Stallman's right to speak freely by signing an online petition (just like I did). You can find information about how to do that on https://stallmansupport.org.

I am about to burn through chapter 22 of Hailey's Comet (brutally dissected edition). I get Monday off from work. So, I'm hoping I can finish revising Hailey's Comet this weekend! xD I plan to have the project finished some time next week at any rate. I will add it to the Hailey's Follies page as soon as I am through. So, be looking for it. Some things had to change. And, the story is quite different in some key ways. However, it's still the same story. The main difference is that it is much more enjoyable. I plan to discuss some of the changes I made and why I chose to make them in the near future.

Random Fact: Insanely Witty Stupidity's icon (the "Oracle") is mysterious and perplexing. The more a person stares at it-- the more bizarre it appears. In reality, the logo is merely three letters inside of a yellow circle. Weird, huh?
